Discover the Arabic Alphabet Through Art

A playful, visual introduction to the Arabic alphabet for children, families, learners, and anyone curious about the Arabic language and culture.

Written and illustrated by Alshiref Eskander, a native Arabic speaker and owner of Amity, this book pairs each Arabic letter with an original, hand-drawn illustration that helps bring its sound and character to life.

More than an alphabet-learning book, it’s an invitation to connect with a language, a culture, a family tradition, or simply something new.

For some readers, it may be a first introduction to Arabic. For others, it may be a way to share a language they grew up with, keep it present in their family, or help a younger generation feel connected to their heritage. And for children and families with no connection to Arabic, it offers an approachable way to encounter another language and expand their understanding of the world.

A Book for Learning, Sharing & Connecting

You don’t have to be studying Arabic to enjoy this book. It was created for anyone who wants to explore the language visually and at their own pace, including:
  • Children discovering Arabic or being introduced to another language
  • Parents and families sharing Arabic language and culture with younger generations
  • Arabic-speaking and multicultural families looking for a visual resource to enjoy together
  • Heritage learners reconnecting with a language that is part of their family or community
  • New Arabic learners looking for an approachable introduction to the alphabet
  • Teachers, tutors, caregivers, and classrooms introducing children to Arabic
  • Anyone curious about Arabic language, lettering, art, and culture

Whether the goal is learning the alphabet, keeping a family connection alive, or simply discovering something new, the book is designed to make Arabic feel welcoming, visual, and enjoyable.
